Halloween Costume Exchange
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Let’s do our part in keeping costumes out of the landfills! If you have gently used Halloween costumes from years past, please bring them in and we will facilitate a costume exchange.
Drop off your gently used costumes in the office and during Fall Family Nights come in and “shop” our free collection for a new (to you) costume! All leftover costumes will be available for students to grab in the office on Friday 10/23.

New Clubs Are Coming!
Get ready- new club offerings are coming this October! Keep an eye out for more details in The Scoop as we announce upcoming clubs and sign-ups.
We’d also love to grow our club offerings with help from our amazing parent community! Some clubs we’d love to offer include LEGO Club, Art Club, Cheer Club for younger kids, Theater, Spanish, and more.
Do you have a special skill, hobby, talent, or interest you’d love to share with our students? We’d love your help leading a club! If you’re interested in volunteering or have an idea for a club, please email Lauren at lauren.durr@evergreenccs.org

6th - 8th Grade Families
We have a couple of exciting opportunities for our middle grade students!
| It is that time of the year! Battle of the Books is beginning and 6th - 8th grade students are invited to join the challenge.
| |
| | | We want to invite our 6th-8th graders to participate in Math Club and/or Math Counts.
| The MATHCOUNTS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making high-quality math problems, puzzles, and skills accessible to middle school students. There are currently two different programs that fall under the MATHCOUNTS umbrella, both of which will be offered this year!

Counseling Corner

October is a month full of important topics to highlight!
In addition to National Bullying Prevention Month, did you know that it’s also LGBTQ+ History Month?
LGBTQ+ History Month is a month-long celebration first observed in the United States in 1994, thanks to Rodney Wilson, an openly gay high school teacher from Missouri who advocated for dedicating a month to honoring LGBTQ+ history. October was chosen not only for its historical significance—with National Coming Out Day on October 11th and the anniversary of the first March on Washington for Gay and Lesbian Rights in 1979—but also because it’s a time when students are in school and learning together.
At Evergreen, we are continually working toward a school culture that is inclusive, equitable, and supportive of all students and their families regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic status, ability, religious values, or political affiliation. We’re excited to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month and to uplift the voices of students represented in this community.
As mentioned just above the Counseling Corner, this year 5th-8th grade students have the opportunity to join Evergreen’s Rainbow Alliance! We will be holding our first meeting on Monday, October 12, from 2:00–3:00 PM. Please contact rachel.snider@evergreenccs.org or nd.gravy@evergreenccs.org with any questions.
