Annual Fund Report - Good News and Gratitude
We are SO CLOSE to meeting Evergreen’s Annual Fund Goal! Thank you to everyone who has given or shared the Fund this year. Thank you to everyone who set up new, increased, or maintained their recurring donations!
We did the math for the balance needed and if every family gave $20 today, we’d hit that budgeted goal!
Give today before we all get caught up in the whirlwind that is May! www.givebutter.com/evergreenvillage
Let’s finish this group project that we all started together, the group project that is the 2025-2026 school year!
We all have a lot to be proud of this year. Maintaining normalcy for our students while many of us are still getting grounded after last year’s event, is no small feat. I hope that as you celebrate moving up and graduation ceremonies this year you are also taking time to celebrate yourselves, your families, and the various villages (including the village you’ve found here) that have helped see you through.
Let Them Know You’re Proud & help support the School!
You can also help make a dent in that $6K we still need to raise and get something (besides a wholistically educated amazing kiddo) in return!
Buy a Graduation/Moving Up Card from our fundraiser and we will be put 100% of the proceeds toward the Annual Fund!

New designs this year, plus the Quotation Cards come with a brief bio of their author on the back of the card!
Cards are sold by donation on a Sliding Scale, with a suggested donation of $5-20/card.
After you’ve selected your card/s you will have the opportunity to personalize the card with your own message. Your message will be hand written inside and delivered to classrooms!
This is a great fundraiser to share with extended family as a way for them to be involved in your student’s milestones, even from afar!

Navigating Testing Season Together
For better or worse, testing season is officially here! While our younger students tackle mCLASS assessments, our older ones are gearing up for End-of-Grade (EOG) tests.
If your child is feeling nervous, please know that it is completely normal. Test anxiety is simply a form of performance anxiety—it's that familiar pressure we all feel when a situation "counts."
The Science Behind the Stress
When students anticipate a stressful event, the body releases adrenaline. This triggers the "fight or flight" response, causing physical symptoms like stomach butterflies, a racing heart, or shakiness.
While a little stress can actually sharpen focus, too much of it leads to overwhelm. Our goal is to help students shift from a mindset of perfection to one of progress.
Tips to Reduce Anxiety at Home
Encourage your child to build these supportive, wellness-focused habits into their daily routine:
Nourish the mind-body connection: Prioritize 8–10 hours of sleep, deep hydration, and balanced meals to give their nervous system a steady, resilient foundation.
Build an emotional toolkit: Teach simple mindfulness or deep "belly breaths" so they have a tangible way to actively calm panic in the moment.
Protect mental energy: Spread out study time over several days. Pacing prevents the emotional burnout and anxiety that comes with late-night cramming.
Validate their feelings: Create a safe space for them to voice their fears. Normalizing their stress reminds them they don’t have to carry it alone.
Cultivate self-compassion: Encourage kind self-talk. Remind them to view mistakes as a natural, healthy part of learning rather than a failure.
Smart Strategies for Testing Day
Share these practical, grounding tips to help your student maintain inner calm on the morning of the exam:
Prioritize restful sleep: Ensure a peaceful night’s rest so they can approach the day with a clear, steady mind.
Fuel emotional stability: Serve a breakfast with protein and complex carbs (like eggs or oatmeal) to avoid the blood sugar crashes and jitters that mimic anxiety.
Create a buffer for calm: Arrive at school early. Eliminating a rushed morning prevents stress hormones from spiking before the test even starts.
Practice self-grounding: Remind them to take a slow, centering breath if they feel their mind start to wander or panic during the test.
Most importantly, remember: A test is just one single measure of learning. It can never capture all the unique skills, talents, and inherent worth of your child. Encourage them to focus on putting in their best effort rather than achieving a perfect score!
