Middle School
Grades 6 through 8 are formative years when students decide who they are as learners. At Evergreen, we make sure every student leaves 8th grade knowing they are ready for high school.

In second trimester, 6th grade scholars work on thier Earth and Beyond Expedition. During these weeks, scholars learn how the layers of the Earth contribute to the formation and earthquakes and volcanoes. Fieldwork during this Expedition include visits to Mayland Earth to Sky Park and Duke Energy Progress Solar Site.

7th grade kicks off the year strong with their Physics expedition! After learning the fundamentals of physics and gravity, 7th grade travels to Dollywood to see these properties in action. Students learn about design, operation, and maintenance of these machines from industry experts. They return with ideas to then design and create their own rollercoaster.

8th grade starts the year off with their Who Am I? Identity, Voice, and the World Around Me where students are invited to explore the concept of identity through inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and community engagement. Over the course of the expedition, students investigate how identity is shaped by culture, history, geography, language, personal experiences, mathematics, media, and relationships. How ECCS prepared Nicole for her career
“Evergreen taught me to be a strong student: curious, disciplined, and confident in my ability to learn. More importantly, I was guided on how to be a caring human. Responsibility, respect, community, and integrity were woven into everyday learning. Teachers genuinely cared about who we were becoming, not just how we performed on paper. Looking back, Evergreen prepared me to work hard, stay grounded, and lead with compassion… qualities that matter deeply in nursing and in life. I’m grateful for the role ECCS played in my journey, and I’m proud to have attended.”
