Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival

Before-school care is available through EverAfter.

Classes begin at 8:30am. Students are tardy at 8:29am. Families and students arriving after 8:29am will need to park and enter the school through the front office. Students K-5 will need to be signed in late with a parent/guardian; students in grades 6-8 can sign themselves in.

We strongly suggest you pull into the school driveway no later than 8:10 AM to ensure your child has time to grab breakfast, unpack, and prepare for class.

Dismissal

The pick-up hours are staggered in order to control traffic congestion on New Haw Creek Road.

Dismissal times are as follows:

Monday

  • K-2 - 1:25pm

  • 3-4 - 1:35pm

  • 5-8 - 1:45pm

Tuesday-Friday

  • K-2 - 2:50pm

  • 3-4 - 3:00pm

  • 5-8 - 3:15pm

  • Pickup Window: Please pick up your child within the 10–15 minute dismissal window. Students with older siblings or carpools should be picked up during the older student’s dismissal time.

  • Late Pickup Policy: Uncollected students will automatically be sent to EverAfter. Please view our EverAfter page for more details regarding late pickup.

  • Early Pick-up Cutoff: To prevent instructional disruption, early pick-up is not permitted after 1:00 PM on Mondays or 2:30 PM on Tuesdays–Fridays (except for emergencies). Please schedule appointments outside these times.

Morning Traffic

Follow directions provided by the traffic team and do not use your cell phone. Please follow the driveway up and around to stop in front of the gym. Please do not drive through cones set up to direct traffic. Please remember not to block residential driveways when waiting in the carpool lane.

Park & Walk Initiative

Families are encouraged to park in the lower gravel lot by the ballfield and walk the Oakes Trail to campus for arrival and dismissal.

6th–8th graders with signed permission and in good standing may walk to the lower lot at dismissal for pickup by 3:25 pm (remaining students will be brought to EverAfter). Participating middle schoolers must follow basic safety rules: walk directly along Oakes Trail, stay out of the creek, socialize quietly, and refrain from cell phone use until seated in the grass.
