Kay grew up in Berea, KY, and graduated from Berea College with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. She has lived in Western North Carolina for 30+ years and has been lucky enough to enjoy several careers, providing her with a variety of skills that come in handy, usually when least expected. However, while teaching preschool, she found her place in the world, and working with special needs kids has become her favorite job yet. In her spare time, Kay enjoys reading, a variety of arts and crafts, cast iron cooking and restoration, history, baseball, National Parks, her four cats, and exploring any part of the world that may come her way.
