James earned his degree in Psychology and a K-6 teaching license from UNCA. He joined Evergreen in 2008 as a part-time teacher, then took over as EverAfter Director in 2014. James spearheaded and helped evolve the EverAfter program for over 10 years before moving to the 8th grade team. He believes you build positive environments by meeting people where they are and wholly believes ‘connection before correction’ is the best philosophy. James’ favorite time of the school year is the staff vs. student Wolfpack Sports games.
