Pre-Order 2025-2026 Yearbooks!
Yearbooks can now be pre-ordered through MySchoolBucks for $25!
Pre-ordering your copy will let us to know how many we need to have printed. We will order a limited quantity of extras which will be available for purchase at school after the preorder window has closed on May 1st. These copies will be offered on a first come first served basis. Make sure you get your copy by pre-ordering now!
April 20th-21st Evergreen’s Earth Day celebration and Plant Sale
A donation from Danny's Dumpsters of 4 yards of compost for our garden has been really key to our Garden Revival!
If you are getting compost for your garden this spring consider checking out their services!
Earth Day is next Monday!
Joele has a bevvy of activities for celebrate! Bee City USA Asheville will be buzzing about. TAASC will be teaching students about Wilderness First Aid. Seventh Grade has a Global Citizens table that will be serving fizzy drinks. The Smoothie Bike rides again and the Department of Environmental Quality will have a presentation on solar panels.

Tourney Rain Dates!
On Monday, Fifth and Sixth Graders hit the field for their Tourney of the Hoops Rain Date! We could not have asked for a prettier day! Hopefully our luck holds out for the rest of the rescheduled games!
Third and Fourth Grade plasy tomorrow afternoon at 1:45pm.
Seventh & Eighth Grade will play on April 27th 1:30pm.
We will keep the giving page open through the end of the month. We are currently only $8,022 short of our goal! Has your grade level made it to their goal of $5,555?
We are also keeping the Penny Jug out through the 27th! So send in your pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters! Let’s make Johnny’s brother, “Miscellaneous Cash” our biggest donor of the Tourney!

Return those Library Books!
If you see a charge in MySchoolBucks for a library book, that is a replacement fee, not a fine, for overdue books. Simply return the book to the library to have this fee removed from your account!
Summer Camp Registration is now Open!
Enrollment is now open for
Summer Adventures!
This summer, we will be open the weeks of:
June 22-26,
July 6-10,
July 13-17,
July 20-24, and
July 27-31.
Cost is $325/week for the regular camp day, and $375/week for the extended day option.
Highlights of our camp include art, bikes, water play, hikes for older campers, and top-rope climbing!

Join us for our Annual Spring Art Show Opening on May 12th, from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the East Asheville Library.
The Library will provide light refreshments and K-8 work will be displayed in their Flowstate Gallery.

“Post- Spring Break Blues”: Navigating the Return to Routine
We hope your family had a restful spring break! As students return to school, it’s normal to see a mix of emotions, including excitement, fatigue, and sometimes anxiety about getting back into routines. The "Post-Spring Break Blues" are common, but for some students they may feel overwhelming, showing up as reluctance to attend school or difficulty re-engaging.
Signs Your Child May Be Struggling:
Hesitation or refusal to go to school
Frequent complaints of stomachaches or headaches
Increased need for reassurance or difficulty separating
Trouble focusing or feeling overwhelmed
Changes in mood, such as irritability or withdrawal
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we want to partner with you to ensure every student feels supported and ready to learn. Here are some ways to support a smooth transition back and for the remainder of the year:
Check In and Validate: Keep conversations open and supportive while maintaining clear expectations about attending school
Rebuild Routines: Consistent sleep and morning routines help create predictability; preparing the night before can ease stress
Use the "Bridge" Technique: Help your child find a "bridge" between home and school by focusing on something they look forward to. Is there a favorite teacher to see, a friend to sit with at lunch, or a club meeting?
Start Small: Encourage manageable goals and celebrate progress
Practice Coping Skills: Use strategies like deep breathing and positive self-talk
Stay Connected: Reach out to teachers or the school counselor for additional support
If your child continues to struggle, extra support may be helpful. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. As always, we are here to support you and your child.

If you already have an EBT card, the funds will automatically be loaded. If you don't already have an EBT card, one will be mailed to you - to the address the school has on file- on March 31. Making this is a great time to make sure the school has up to date contact information for your family!
