It’s hard to believe it’s already May - End of Year trips are in full swing (special shout out to 5th grade teachers who changed their entire trip the day before due to weather!!)

Please join us on May 21st for our annual meeting - it’s full of awards, recognitions, appreciations, updates, and a chance to vote on new board members. It’s quick (5:30-6:30) and your presence is valued and valuable!

If you have capacity, we would love your support for showing teachers love during Evergreen’s Teacher appreciation week - May 18th-22nd this year - see below for more details on how to contribute.

Evergreen Art Show Opens on May 12th!

Join us for our Annual Spring Art Show Opening on May 12th, from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the East Asheville Library.

The Library will provide light refreshments and K-8 work will be displayed in their Flowstate Gallery.

Second grade works on mastering Radial Symmetry!


Teacher Appreciation Week!

May 18th - 22nd

In appreciation of all the hard work our teachers and staff have done this year to enrich the lives of our children, we are deeming the week of May 18 as Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week.  

Monday, May 18: Breakfast treats in the staff lounge and mini massages throughout the morning.

Tuesday, May 19: Notes and/or Flower for Teachers made by families.

Wednesday, May 20: Gifts of Abundance – Families, please consider making a small monetary contribution or other gifts of appreciation to your teachers and assistants (as well as other teacher support staff). Mini massages in the afternoon.

Thursday, May 21: Drinks from 7th grade’s Coffee on 7th and mini massages.

Friday, May 22: Lunch for all staff and teachers. 

Other goodies may also appear throughout the week!

May 21st Evergreen Annual Meeting *Please Attend*

Thursday, May 21st, from 5:30-6:30pm is the Evergreen Annual Meeting.

This meeting is a way parents can get involved to help to determine the Board of Directors for the following term. As stakeholders in the school, you are eligible and encouraged to be part of this decision.

When you arrive, please look for QR Codes to record your attendance. To make the vote valid we need to reach a quorum of 10% of our members.


Summer Camp Registration Open!

Enrollment is now open for
Summer Adventures!

This summer, we will be open the weeks of:

  • June 22-26, 

  • July 6-10, 

  • July 13-17,

  • July 20-24, and 

  • July 27-31.

Cost is $325/week for the regular camp day, and $375/week for the extended day option.

Highlights of our camp include art, bikes, water play, hikes for older campers, and top-rope climbing!

If you are already registered for the National Free Lunch Program you are auto-enrolled.

If you already have an EBT card, the funds will automatically be loaded. If you don't already have an EBT card, one will be mailed to you - to the address the school has on file- on March 31. Making this is a great time to make sure the school has up to date contact information for your family!

    Chicken Tacos- 2 cans of chicken, black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, packet of taco seasoning, taco shells

    Spaghetti - noodles, pasta sauce, shelf stable grated parmesan cheese

    Breakfast Bag- oatmeal packets, granola bars, fruit cups, shelf stable milk, instant coffee

Please spend the time to link your grocery rewards cards to Evergreen. Get your neighbors to do the same. Register your in-laws, your parents, your friends. This small investment of time can make a big difference each time you go to the store to restock!

Cans for Climbing
Bring your aluminum cans for recycling, drop them in the trailer that sits by the buses. Cans for Climbing supports our Adventure Program and brings in over a thousand dollars each year!
