Teacher Appreciation Week!

Here at Evergreen we do everything just a little differently and the same goes for Teacher Appreciation Week! The National Week of recognition is next week, but since 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 8th Grades are on End of Year Trips next week it seems unfair for us to have a Teacher Appreciation Week when almost half of our teachers would not be here to enjoy it. We end up scheduling an alternate week almost every year, and this year, that falls on:

May 18th-22nd.

Please stay tuned for ways to get involved in this week of celebrating our wonderful teachers!

May: Balancing the Busy with Mental Wellness

May at Evergreen is a whirlwind. Between end-of-grade testing, field trips, final projects, and celebrations, it’s easy for students and families to feel stretched thin. That’s what makes it especially meaningful that May is also Mental Health Awareness Month.

This can be a great month to make space for meaningful conversations with your student/family about the importance of Mental Health. Mental health is something we all have, and is just as important as our physical health! We invite you to learn about tips and resources to stamp out stigma

Open, honest conversations help reduce stigma and remind our students that it’s okay not to be okay and that support is always available. We encourage you to take the opportunity to check in with your child about how they’re doing. Sharing your own experiences and "holding space" for theirs can help normalize these important discussions.

Note:  We will be recognizing Mental Health Awareness Week May 11-15  right here at Evergreen!

  • Wear Green: We invite everyone to wear green on Wednesday, May 13th to show support and remind our community that we’re in this together. 💚

Get Involved: Check out the graphic below for other ways to participate throughout the week. 💚

Sunbucks will be available Summer 2026!

Do you qualify for NCDHHS’s Summer Nutritional Assistance Program? Find out on their website.

If you already have an EBT card, the funds will automatically be loaded. If you don't already have an EBT card, one will be mailed to you - to the address the school has on file- on March 31. Making this is a great time to make sure the school has up to date contact information for your family!
