Happy May, Evergreen!

The school year feels like it’s quickly coming to a close, complete with all of the bustle and excitement that this brings - end of year trips, middle school dances, moving up ceremonies, graduation, summer - so much on the horizon!

It’s also that time of year when we start hearing of staff moving on to other adventures. While we are always sad to see people leave, we wish them well and also appreciate the fresh excitement and ideas that our new staff bring with them.

At the end of the school year, we will be saying goodbye to Oslo Medley and Heather Smith. We will miss them both!

Also, we will be sending Jo Giordano into retirement with Evergreen “wooshes” and love as she wraps up her 21 year career at Evergreen! We have loved her energy and contributions and will dearly miss her kind yet adventurous approach to teaching.

We are very excited to announce that Julie Carlinnia will be our EC/504 Coordinator beginning next year. Julie has been at Evergreen in a couple of capacities, most recently as an EC teacher, and brings amazing experience and knowledge to our admin team in this role.

One special rite of passage for our 8th graders is Grad Panels. As part of their graduation requirements, they work hard to craft graduation portfolios and presentations. We need judges for this event and I’d encourage you to sign up for the evening. It’s an amazing opportunity to gain an impressive insight into the student experience at Evergreen.
If you can join us from 5-8:30pm on June 5th (or even for part of it), please sign up HERE. You’ll get trained and have dinner as part of the evening. Without volunteers, this event cannot happen!

Other important dates are on the Evergreen calendar, in the Scoop weekly, and in classroom newsletters. They include Graduation (June 11th), Moving Up Ceremonies (June 10th & 11th), Last day of school (June 12th), EOGs (last two weeks of school), and Annual Meeting (May 15th).

PS - Please see the letter attached to Lynni’s email for updates on the Power School data breach and an invitation for free credit and identity monitoring for the next two years.

Parent volunteers are needed to bring in culinary delights during Staff Appreciation Week on May 19 and 22!

We'll need some wonderful parent volunteers to bring in lounge snacks, pastries, coffee cups and extras like half n' half, etc.

Please find the Monday, May 19 signup links here. If the May 19 spots fill up, we still have spots available for other Thursdays of the school year (also in that signup link).

More to come on the other events of Staff Appreciation Week in the next Scoop! Email Kellam using the button below with any questions.

Don’t forget to log your hours!

Greeting Card Fundraiser

Send a smile to your favorite Evergreen students to celebrate another successful school year!

This year we are offering to customize and print a range of greeting cards for Moving Up and Graduation Ceremonies for a suggested donation of $3-5/card to help support the Evergreen Annual Fund.  All profits from this fundraiser will go toward the Evergreen Annual Fund's goal of $100,000. The Evergreen Annual Fund goes toward faculty and staff salaries as well as supporting our beautiful campus.

Evergreen Annual Fund

Thank you to everyone who has given to Tourney of the Hoops and the Evergreen Fund. Your support of our school and public education makes a real impact.

Did you know: 80% of Evergreen's annual budget is used for teacher and staff salaries? Meaning your dollars go to what matters most: having invested, qualified professionals in classrooms.

If you haven't given yet, there is still time! Your donation is so important, now more than ever!

A small monthly gift of $5 per month, or a quarterly or one time donation can have a big difference on our school's budget at a time when we are facing massive budget cuts.
We appreciate you being part of our Evergreen community.

Our Cans for Climbing program is a major fundraiser for Evergreen’s Adventure Program that is easy to participate in. All you need to do is drop off any aluminum cans you have in the Cans for Climbing Trailer located right by our buses.
