Sam is an active conservationist. He has a B.S. in Biology, as well as his MBA. After launching an advanced air filter company focused on indoor air quality, he started Broad Energy Solutions to focus on developing large scale steam systems using alternative and renewable fuels.

Lori received her BA in Acting and Directing, and after a few years touring in a children’s theatre company she become a Theatre Arts teacher. She plays many roles in her community on and off the stage as an actress, past President of the Junior League of Asheville,  volunteer, and Smart Start Champion for Children.

Laura has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a Masters in Library Science. She has worked as Evergreen's Librarian since 2006. Laura is passionate about inspiring a love of reading in students. future for us all.Prior to joining Evergreen, Laura worked as a wildlife rehabilitator.

Alicia received her degree in English and American Studies from the University of Alabama. She has lived in Asheville for 20 years. Alicia works in the Contracts division for a defense and aerospace corporation.  


 


  Marisol Jimenez  Community Member

Marisol earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, as well as her Master in Social Work. She is the founder and lead consultant for Tepeyac Consulting, which works to advance equity through state and national policy advocacy, grassroots leadership development, community organizing, facilitation and training, and participatory research. She served as the Advocacy Director for El Pueblo and as a steering committee member of the Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform National Strategy Council. Marisol served as the Racial Equity Training Director for OpenSource Leadership Strategies, Inc. a national consulting firm committed to amplifying the work of social justice organizations for several years and in 2015 she transitioned into a contract role.

Dr. Susan has been Evergreen's Executive Director since 2007. She has a B.S. degree in Special Education, an M.Ed. in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction. She has worked as a School Improvement Consultant, and served as the Director of The Piedmont School.

Mark received a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics. He led various sectors of a construction-focused executive search firm and now heads the Construction & Real Estate executive search practice within Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP. Mark serves on the Buncombe County Board of Adjustment.

Maggie has been a member of Padgett & Freeman since 1998 and a Partner since 2009. She has played a critical role in many of the firm’s most challenging and environmentally sustainable projects, and has specialized in education and commercial design.

Jeannie has a BS from Virginia Tech and an MEd from Marymount University. She is a teacher and professional development consultant. After teaching in the Bay Area and at Evergreen, she has been working with teachers and administrators to strengthen math instruction in elementary schools across the nation.

Linnea has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and a MBA from Western Carolina University. She moved to Asheville, NC in April 1995 for her first job out of college and is currently the Vice President Sales, Americas at UPM Raflatac.

Theresa received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. After working for three years as an environmental educator, she decided to pursue a career in the classroom. Theresa  received her teaching license while doing graduate work and has been a teacher at Evergreen since 2007.

Erica holds degrees in Animal Science and Natural Resource Economics; she also has a Master of Urban and Regional Planning. She is currently the Economic and Community Development Director at Land of Sky Regional Council, working with the government & community.

Justin earned his Bachelor’s degree is in Landscape Architecture and an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Development. He originally moved to Asheville from California in 2004 as a land planner, where he worked for a year before becoming a mortgage banker.

Jason received a B.A. in English with minors in both Math and Women's Studies, as well as a Masters in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He been working in education for 17 years, 13 at Evergreen and served as Associate Director at Evergreen for 5 years.

Kris attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She is a philanthropist who is proud to work as a Development Manager for United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. Her work with United Way keeps her well connected and active within the Asheville community.  


  Brittany Keeler  Parent

Parent

Brittany Keeler received a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She spent two years teaching and facilitating community outreach programs before joining Evergreen as a 4th grade teacher. In 2010, she traveled to Cambodia and Thailand to conduct workshops for teachers with Teachers Across Borders.


Board Meetings & Minutes

The Board meets at Evergreen on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm.
