Peggy Silvers

Middle School Special Services

Born and raised in Asheville, I grew up embracing mountain customs, heritage, geography, flora and fauna. A wonderful supportive husband, son, and daughter bless my life. We built our home in Broad River, and benefit daily from the spring we dug.

I worked my way through Mars Hill College and UNCA graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History/minoring in Elementary- Intermediate Education (grades 4-9). I have taught in local school systems as well as the Juvenile Evaluation Center, Manpower Development, and Black Mountain Center.

I continued to pursue my passion for teaching and graduated from Western Carolina University with a Master of Education in Special Education, and more recently achieved National Board Certification in Early Childhood through Young Adulthood/Exceptional Needs Specialist.

It is my desire to teach every child to learn to the best of their abilities and feel confident and successful. I feel this is a philosophy nurtured at Evergreen Community Charter School!
