Evergreen In The News

Evergreen popped up all over the local and national media in the last few months. Our old friend Jonathan Poston did a great piece on our Adventure/PE program for the Mountain Express, and just the week before that the publication profiled Evergreen student and bluesman Zeppelin Murray in its Askville feature.
Evergreen also makes an appearance in Instructor Magazine's November issue. In an article called Go Team Green! How Green Classrooms are Reconnecting Kids with Nature, Samantha Cleaver writes, “Even as No Child Left Behind decreases the time allotted for environmental education and field trips, research shows that children who spend time outdoors are healthier, happier, and smarter.”  Evergreen associate director Anne Vilen is quoted as saying, “The combination of classwork, fieldwork and service learning allows Evergreen’s students to move from appreciating the environment to maintaining and sustaining it.”
