Larry Wilkerson

Associate Director for Operations, 6-8 Team Leader

Larry came out of retirement in 2005 to assume the helm in 7th grade math and science when a teacher left mid-year.  He is licensed to teach middle school math and science (which he did for 10 years early in his career), but he also has his Ed. S. in Educational Leadership and served as a principal and assistant principal in McDowell County Schools for 19 years. Evergreen quickly recognized his talent, and the Middle School faculty  enthusiastically supported his appointment as Associate Director and Team Leader for Middle School.  Although coming from a school system that is more closely associated with “traditional education,” he has embraced our school’s philosophy and is anxious to learn more about implementing an ELOB program.  On the other hand, Larry has the school experience to competently handle our operations issues and his academic background and  “people skills” serve him well in his role as middle school administrator and math enrichment teacher.
