Kevin Smith

Lead Teacher, Fourth Grade

Kevin's route to Evergreen started far north of Asheville.  A Connecticut native, he started college in Maine where he could pursue his love of the outdoors.  When he transferred to Warren Wilson, he began his relationship with Evergreen by observing in Marni's room.  Eventually, Kevin completed his student teaching with her and then hired on as a one-on-one.  He has been a lead teacher here since 2004.  He feels fortunate to be working with such a great team at Evergreen.

When he's not coming up with creative ways to engage his students, he likes to get out on his motorcycle, go rock climbing, and have fun with his wife, Jo, and their dogs.
