Evergreen Community Charter School is grounded in the philosophy that all community members will work together to ensure the success of each child at ECCS. Making the choice to bring your children to Evergreen requires commitment to an active partnership with the School. Each two-parent family is expected to provide service to the School for four hours a month; single-parent families are expected to volunteer for two hours, as stated in the Partnership Agreement.
Parent Network Committees include Hospitality, Office Support, Grounds/Landscaping, Teacher Appreciation, various fundraising events and many others. See the Community Handbook, Appendix A for a complete listing. Class coordinators help to organize parent volunteers for field trips, special classroom events and projects. In addition to serving on committees or as class coordinator, we ask parents to share their knowledge and skills in the classroom. Telephone other parents, work in our library and help maintain our campus. There are many ways you can fulfill your commitment to the partnership. Because your child's safety is of paramount importance to us, all parent volunteers and visitors must check in at the main office and receive a Visitor or Parent Badge. (This is also where you will record your volunteer hours.) Please note that we are a drug, alcohol, and smoke-free campus. This policy applies to staff and parents volunteering or attending any school-sponsored event, and is essential to our continued participation in federal grant programs.
