Anne Vilen, M.A.T.

Associate Director for Program & Professional Development, K-2 Team Leader

Anne has a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Grinnell College, and her Master of Arts in Teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill.  She taught 6th grade humanities at Mountain Discovery Charter School in Bryson City (also an ELOB school) in their first year and language arts to 8th graders at Reynolds Middle School.  For 12 years, Anne worked with public schools and other organizations to facilitate writing workshops and teach writing teachers. She also taught writing at the college level and for summer programs such as the Duke University Young Writers’ Camp and Duke University's Talent Identification Program for gifted youth.  Anne loves finding resources for learning expeditions and helping teachers and students build connections around big ideas.  She brings a wealth of curriculum ideas and leadership expertise to Evergreen!
