pe6Adventure/PE:
Adventure physical education offers athletics in the traditional and non-traditional settings.

This enrichment is required for grades K - 8th. Here at the Evergreen campus students learn and practice sports, fitness routines, group games, initiatives, individual record setting, and how exercise relates to overall health.

In addition, students travel off campus to participate in alternative sports such as skiing, snowboarding, backpacking, wall climbing, rock climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking.

Each grade participates in an overnight adventure ranging from Kindergarten students sleeping in the school classroom to 8th graders embarking on a four day Outward Bound course.

Middle school adventures are lined up in a progression in which students attend a beginning and end of year trip usually lasting two days.

These adventures are integral to the curriculum and character education that Evergreen teaches. Led by Jo Smith, the teachers and students embark on journeys that challenge their “comfort zones."
