Jen Watkins has worked in Title I at Evergreen since 2006. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and lived in several different states before settling in Asheville with her husband and two children in 2006. She loves working with children, playing soccer (even helping to run the local adult soccer league), gardening, and playing outside! After graduating from Furman University, she began her career as a classroom teacher before taking a few years off to stay at home with her children. She now loves her dual roles as Evergreen staffer and parent, working with so many individuals and also seeing her children grow and thrive every day at Evergreen!

Marilyn has been a teacher for 18 years and has a Master's in Elementary Ed from Colorado College. In that time, she has taught all grade levels of students, pre-K through high school, and enjoyed a number of experiential education settings. Marilyn is also certified in exceptional education and has spent the last 11 years working with students who have learning differences. She is married and has one son and one daughter, both adults. Marilyn and her husband Jim are newcomers to NC, after living most of the last 3 decades in Colorado. In her spare time, Marilyn hikes, swims, walks, practices yoga, and reads a lot!
